Missing person found in Pakistan

NRK's reporter Atta Ansari has travelled around in Pakistan for some time, trying to look into the disappearance of the Norwegian citizen. Several witnesses said alreay in August last year that Arjemandi was abducted by people said to belong to the Pakistani secret police. Up to now, both the police and the Pakistani intelligence service have denied any knowledge of the man's whereabouts. However, in an interview with NRK this weekend, the Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik confirmed that Ehsan Arjemandi is still in Pakistan. The Minister said Arjemandi had been arrested because he had been travelling in Pakistan with false ID papers, and that the arrest was part of Pakistan's efforts to stop foreigners from carrying out terrorist acts in Pakistan. Asked by NRK when Arjemandi would be allowed to return to Norway, Interior Minister Malik said this could only be possible after court proceedings.
