Seafood export on the rise

Norway exported seafood worth NOK 3.7 billion in August, an increase of NOK 667 million compared with the same month last year. The export of salmon constitutes most of the increase.


Wreck of UK trawler found after 60 years

Norwegian divers have found the wreck of the British trawler "Laforey" which stranded off the western coast of Norway nearly 60 years ago. Twenty UK fishermen lost their lives in the wreck.


Continous growth in export of seafood

The value of exported seafood from Norway in July reached NOK 3.8 billion. This is an increase by 15 per cent compared with July last year. The growth has been continous over the past 9 months.


Mackerel fishing criticised

Norway is critical to what it calls irresponsible fishing for mackerel by Iceland and the Faroe Islands, and underlines the ban on landings of mackerel in Norway by vessels from the two nations.


Aker Seafoods acquires Spanish harvesting company

The Spanish harvesting company Pesquera Ancora becomes a wholly owned subsidiary after Norwegian company Aker Seafoods recquired the remaining 40 percent share of the Spanish company.
