Norway's Queen Sonja was present when the famous Urnes stave church in Sogn was reopened Thursday, following two years of restauration. NOK 150 million will be spent on restoring Norway's stave churches.
A complete refurbishing and upgrading of the National Theatre building in Oslo looks to become much more expensive and take longer time than earlier estimated, Aftenposten reports.
As part of its world retirement tour, Ending on a High Note, the Norwegian band A-ha will visit Oslo and Ullevaal stadium on Saturday August 21. The concert kicks off the first-ever stadium tour for the band.
Thursday is Norway's Princess Ingrid Alexandra's first day of school. She enters Jansløkka public school, not too far from her family home in the hamlet of Asker, west of the capital, Oslo.
After the traditional opening parade through Karl Johans Gate last Saturday, the Oslo Jazz Festival kicked off this week. Around 70,000 are expected to attend the festival, which ends Sunday.
